Sean began his career at Deloitte in 1991 and, post qualification as a Chartered Accountant, took up a position at Automakers. During this time, Sean developed a keen interest in the financial services industry, and completed his last year at Automakers as head of Treasury. In 1998 Sean joined Origin, which evolved into RMB Private Bank where he was CFO for 8 years and then CEO for 4 years until his departure from the company in 2011. Sean then moved to the Cape, and teamed up with the Hereford Group and Seed Investments where he currently serves as Executive Director and CEO. Sean is passionate about seeing people succeed and fulfil their potential, and serves as a mentor in different spheres.

As a qualified Chartered Accountant, Ian became actively involved in the financial markets when he joined Sharenet as a Director and Shareholder in the late 1990’s. During his time with Sharenet, Ian obtained his B.Com (Hons) in Financial and Portfolio Management at the University of Cape Town, while gaining valuable investment advisory experience. In 2002, Ian started Exsequor Investments, an independent investment advisor to high net worth clients and the forerunner to Seed Investments. Ian plays an active role as Executive Director and CIO of Seed. Ian’s primary focus is on the management of our range of Seed Funds and the Investment Team.
Head of Distribution
With a B.Com in Financial Management and B.Com (Hons) in Business Management, Adriaan began his career in 1996. He worked within various corporate sectors, including Denel, Macsteel International, Island Ventures Jersey Ltd and the SA Sugar Industry as an International Trader and Economist before becoming a CFA Charter Holder in 2004. By 2006, Adriaan was Head of Institutional Business and Retail Investment Marketing at Stanlib. In 2010, Adriaan joined the Liberty team as their Regional Marketing and Distribution Director before being appointed Liberty Broker Division Regional Head in 2011. Adriaan joined the Seed team in 2019 as Head of Distribution.

After graduating from the University of Pretoria in 1996 with a B.Com (Hons) in Actuarial Science, Vincent started his career at Sanlam until moving to the United Kingdom in 1999. He returned to South Africa in 2002, where he co-managed one of the first Fund of Hedge Funds in South Africa at Novare Investments and was also involved in the creation and implementation of investment strategies for some of South Africa’s largest pension funds. Vincent co-founded Seed in 2007, and still plays a key role as a Non-Executive Director. Vincent is now based in Canada, where his main focus is advising private clients for Kingsmere Financial Services.

In 1995, Michael established the Hereford Group as a Liberty franchise. Michael has successfully grown the Hereford Group into one of South Africa’s leading Wealth Management Companies, with offices in parts of Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal and the Western Cape. As the CEO of the Hereford Group, Michael is responsible for the smooth daily running of the company, as well as the development of the long-term strategy of the company and its affiliates. Michael, a leader in the Wealth Management field, is a Non-Executive Director to Seed, who shares a close and mutually beneficial business partnership with the Hereford Group.

After earning his Bachelor of Business Science at the University of Cape Town, Mike joined the Seed Investments Team in 2005. Mike moved on to achieve his CFA Charter in 2009. He has been part of the Seed Investment Committee since 2007, and was promoted to Portfolio Manager in 2010. Mike’s focus is on the management of Seed’s multi asset unit trust funds, where asset allocation, manager selection and portfolio construction are key.

After graduating from the University of Stellenbosch with a B.Com (Hons) in Actuarial Science, Cor joined the Seed Investments Team in 2010. In 2014, Cor qualified as a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) and is a CFA Charter Holder. In 2015, Cor was promoted within Seed to the position of Portfolio Manager, where his main focus is on the management of the Seed Wrap Funds.

Tawanda began his career as a Financial Manager in the retail industry, where he gained vast knowledge and practical experience. Tawanda made the decision to follow his passion in the investment field, joining one of the largest asset managers in South Africa as a trainee analyst. Tawanda, a Certified Financial Risk Manager and current CFA Charter holder, joined Seed in 2015 to run the Manager Research function.

Lisa graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a B.Com in Investment Management in 2018. After developing a keen interest in the financial markets during her time at university, Lisa started her career as a Junior Fund Analyst at Burgiss upon graduating. Lisa moved on to join the Seed Team in 2019, and currently supports the Investment Team in her role as Investment Analyst while working towards her CFA qualification.

Nico entered the financial industry in 2001 after a successful professional rugby career. Nico joined the Hereford Group as an advisor. He became CIO in 2005, guiding and constructing investment portfolios for clients until 2011. At this point, Nico decided to further his career in Wealth Management and moved to Hereford Coastal in Cape Town. Nico became involved with Seed Investments on a consultancy basis in 2012 while building his practice with Hereford Coastal. He joined the Seed Wealth Management Team full time 2015 as a Wealth Manager looking after private clients.

Stefan joined Seed in 2012 after working as an institutional client accountant at Maitland. Stefan was initially involved in a research and private client support capacity. Late in 2012, Stefan started advising private clients, becoming a full time Wealth Manager at the Hereford Group. Stefan remained involved with Seed on a consultancy basis until 2015 while building an independent practice through Hereford. Stefan joined the Seed Wealth Management Team full time in 2015 as a Wealth Manager, where he is dedicated to continuously adding value and improving the financial well-being of our clients.

Angelique started her career in the financial industry as an administrative assistant at Contego in 2009. By 2013 she was offered an opportunity to become part of the Contego Trading Team. In 2014 she moved to PSG as an equity dealer assistant. By 2015, she made the decision to start advising private clients and joined the Seed Wealth Management Team as a Wealth Manager Assistant. With an NQF5, Angelique is currently working towards an NQF-6 (Advanced Certificate in Financial Planning), while fulfilling the role of Wealth Manager and Para-planner for Nico Wegner (fellow Wealth Manager).

Claurita started her career in the financial services industry with the PSG Academy as a learner financial planner in 2011. After successfully fulfilling all the requirements, Claurita became a CFP® Professional in 2015. She moved on to start advising private clients at PSG Wealth, until joining the Seed Wealth Management Team in May 2019 as a Wealth Manager. Claurita is dedicated to, and passionate about holistic financial planning, and excited about the positive impact professional financial advice has on the lives of her clients.

Wayne began his career at Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2003 and, post qualification as a Chartered Accountant, took up a position at Ora Fund Managers. He fulfilled various management roles across Finance, Business Development and Portfolio Management before becoming a co-business owner and Financial and Operational Director at First Global Wealth Group in 2016. After obtaining his Chartered Financial Planning Certification, Wayne joined the Seed Team in 2021 to further his career as a Wealth Manager in order to assist clients with financial and investment planning from a holistic point of view, which is his greatest passion in the field.

Carien has 14 years’ extensive experience in client relationship management across various sectors, including the Agricultural, Legal and Financial fields. Before joining the Seed Wealth Management Team as an Administrator in 2016, Carien worked as the Client Relationship Coordinator at BDO (CAP Chartered Accountants). Carien, now fulfilling the key role as Client Relationship Coordinator, is an innovative, talent driven individual.

After completing studies in Graphic Web Design and Digital Photography, Stefan started his career in the financial services industry in 2012 at Waltfin Financial Services, before moving over to Fairtree Private Client division in 2014. Fuelled with a passion for people and almost a decade of experience in client liaison and relationship management, Stéfan joined the Seed Wealth Management Team in February 2019.

Stefanie began her career in the financial industry in 2016, while studying part-time towards her LLB degree at UNISA. Before joining the Seed Team in 2021, Stefanie gained valuable experience in Para-planning, Client Services and the Trust and Fiduciary Sector at Origin Financial and PSG Wealth. After obtaining her degree, Stefanie plans to further her studies towards Financial Planning (CFP) to fulfill her dream of becoming a Legal Adviser in the Financial field. Stefanie loves working with people and assisting clients.

After obtaining her Honours in Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch in 2012, Nicole joined Ernst and Young to complete her articles. Nicole moved on to complete a three month secondment in New York City, where she was placed on the audit team of a Hedge Fund. Returning to Cape Town, Nicole was appointed Assistant Manager at Ernst and Young, with a specific focus on the Financial Service Sector. A newly qualified Chartered Accountant, Nicole stepped into the role of Financial Manager at Regarding Capital Management by early 2017 before joining the Seed Team as Group Financial Manager in December 2017.

Michelle entered the industry in November 2007 at Standard Chartered Bank in Zimbabwe. She was appointed as a Bank Teller prior to being promoted to a Customer Service Representative after almost two years. Upon arriving in South Africa in 2010, Michelle enrolled to complete her Bachelor in Accounting Science with UNISA. While studying, she moved on to gain valuable accounting and business experience at the likes of Underhill Corporate Solutions, MEDITECH South Africa, Quickdraw Solutions and Creative Living SA. Upon completing her degree, Michelle joined the Seed Team in September 2015 as an Accountant.

Tawanda started his career in 2003 as an Accounts Clerk in the government of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Justice Office. After obtaining his Higher National Diploma in Accounting in 2006, Tawanda moved on to gain experience in the manufacturing sector as an Accounts Officer at Ziscosteel, and then as an Internal Auditor at Sable Chemical Industries. Tawanda completed his B. Com Accounting in 2013, before moving to South Africa in December 2016. Upon his arrival in South Africa, Tawanda took on the role of Finance Assistant at Triumph International, as well as the Cape Union Mart head office, before joining Seed Investments in August 2017 as an Assistant Accountant.

Nosipho joined the Seed Team in 2015 after working in the hospitality industry for 7 years. She thrives while working in a loving and nurturing team environment and her greatest passion is caring for those around her. Nosipho is currently obtaining an online certificate in Administration with the University of Cape Town, while helping out around the office and ensuring that the team, and our visitors, have great coffee (served with a bright smile) – a necessary driving force behind the Seed machine!

Miguel graduated from the IIE’s Varsity College with a B.Com in Financial Management in 2019, after which he pursued a role in the Specialty Coffee Industry. During this time, he started exploring the investment space and developed a keen interest to learn more about the industry. Currently a CFA Level 1 candidate, Miguel joined the Seed Team in 2021 with the goal of growing within the sector and bringing value to our Advisor network and the distribution channel.

Carmen joined the Seed Team in 2015 following 10 years of working within Administration and Client Services across various sectors, including Retail, Telecommunications, Financial and Regulatory Services and, most recently, Short-term Insurance at a Free State based brokerage. Striving to excel at her role within Marketing and Communications, Carmen is responsible for the general marketing function across the Seed Group, including merchandising and brand management, digital marketing and communications, event management and community outreach.
